SAITEK Pro Flight YOKE and RUDDER test with Windows 7.

Our panels and aircraft are totally compatible with this hardware. Here are some remarks concerning installation and use.

INSTALLATION:

Installation USB connected is easy and drivers are easy to find at www.saitek.com. When installed and adapted to your preferred aircraft, this product greatly enhances the realism of the flights. Of course the SAITEK PRO FLIGHT YOKE is more adapted to simulate the Boeing aircraft or other ones wich use a "wheel" yoke than to Airbus which uses a small manual joystick. For Airbus thomething like a Microsoft Sidewinder seems more adapted.

Just a (great) regret concerning the SAITEK PRO FLIGHT YOKE: there is not the force feedback such as the Microsoft Sidewinder.

USE AND ADJUSTING:

The customization of the product is very easy but the attached documentation is not so easy to understand. So here are some simple explanations and pictures to make easier to program this hardware.

What you have to do to adjust SAITEK PRO FLIGHT YOKE and PEDALS with Flight Simulator ® :

1 - SAITEK YOKE AND PEDALS HARDWARE CONFIGURATION:

- For Saitek cutomization: open Saitek menu and click on icone of Yoke or Pedals:

Left click on Pedal Icon or Yoke Icon. First click on Yoke Icon, the right one..

You get this menu:

Then click on CONFIGURATION PANEL and you then get this:

Click on every button of the yoke to test it. The corresponding button becomes red light. Then choose DEAD ZONES, and get this:

In this panel left click on the cursors to drag and adjust the various dead zones of the yoke.

Same process for rudder pedals.

2 - SAITEK PROFILE EDITOR:

The profile editor is easy to use. When mouse cursor is in a specific area the corresponding device becomes blue. In the following exemple we had selected the X axis. Then click on the little arrow to display the device parameter.

3 - NOW FLIGHT SIMULATOR X:

Do not launch FS and Saitek configuration and editor simultaneously which seems to lock FS.

Select Options/Settings/Controls as usual to adjust the yoke and pedals:

Then choose BUTTONS/KEYS to assign functions to keys such as for every yoke.

4 - SELECT YOUR OWN PROFILE BEFORE LAUNCHING FS:

Open SAITEK MENU and click on PROFILE EDITOR icon. Adjust parameters as needed. Then SAVE your own profile. For exemple in "My Pictures" and exit.

Then before launching FS, open again SAITEK MENU. Your profile name is displayed at the top of the menu:

In the above exemple our profile is named ProfileGL. Left click on the name then the little icon becomes green. That means your profile is operational and will be used after launching FS.

LASTS REMARKS:

- Adjusting the yoke and pedals will be different depending on the aircraft type you use. Of course the tuning will be different between a big 747 and a small Cessna. Do several profiles, one per aircraft type for exemple.

- We found impossible to make the spoilers be fully operarional. With axis Z (but it's the same with another one) the spoilers may be "armed" then fully extended when pulling the Z handle DOWN. But when Z handle is returned to UP, then the spoilers is fooling up and down and finally stays UP (fully extended).

5 - THEN LAUNCH FS.

That's all.

Have nice landings.
