ANSWER: YES they are.

QUESTION: Why 747-8 and/or 747-800 ?

ANSWER: following the first Boeing announcement, many of us have called the new aircraft 747-800. In fact, the true Boeing denomination for future series is in the fromat 7x7-y. So the real name of the new 747 is really:

Boeing 747-8

QUESTION: it is impossible to adjust altitude?

ANSWER: on the Boeing MCP, a switch locks altitude to avoid error manipulation. So it is necessary to switch ON the FLCH switch first, then switch ON the VS switch to adjust altitude. It is assumed that doing this manual operation, you stop VNAV function of the FMC.

QUESTION: can we use the panels with FSNavigator?

ANSWER: the answer is YES and NO! YES you can use the 2 softwares at the same time. But: FSNavigator and FMC drive the autopilot. So you cannot at the same time follow a flightplan using FSNavigator and another different FS flightplan using the FMC.

QUESTION: what is the 747 landing speed?

ANSWER: about 160 to 165 knots. This speeddepends on the load and it is possible to slow down to 150.

QUESTION: what are the software versions compatible?

ANSWER: the panels had been designed with Windows 98 and FS2002 and now for FS2004 and FSX . The gauges and the panel are totally standard. The panel and the FMC have been now ported and tested with Windows XP and FSX without any problem. All the package being standard, there shouldn't be any incompatibility to use some other softwares simultanously. However some software use the basic functions of FS such as AUTOPILOT. In this case there is incompatibility. Ask the question before downloading the panel.

QUESTION: which folders/files are copied and where?

ANSWER: in FS2004 the gauges folders themselves gl7x7-... must be copied directly in the FS gauges folder. Do not extract the files themselves from the gl7x7... folders. See the picture in the 747 Specifications .

QUESTION: the FMC or PANEL is not displayed or does not work?

ANSWER: all our products are designed to work IN FS FOLDER. Being so they MUST be installed in YOUR FS FOLDER . The installer suggests to install FMC and/or the panels in the standard folder. That is :

C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX/... for FSX

and

C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/... for FS2004

If your Flight Simulator FSX (or FS2004) is installed in another folder please type this folder when installer asks the question in the following window:

In the above exemple, the installer proposes to install the FMC in the standard folder

c:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X

If your FSX is installed in another folder, then type in your own folder string in which your FSX installed. For exemple d:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

Other remark: WINDOWS 7 installs FSX in C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Micorsoft Flight Simulator X/ and not in C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/

Type this folder string in the above Installer window.

Here is also a comment made by a user who had an installation problem:
